[origin: WO8200380A1] A process for generating and radiating ultrasonic energy in fluids, particularly for cleaning baths, by means of an ultrasonic generator and its transducer, wherein the output and the effect of such method are improved. For this purpose, a resonator is immersed in the fluid, which is irradiated by the radial component originating in the expansion nodes of the longitudinal wave. A corresponding installation has a resonator (1) in connection with the transducer (9) and with the bath liquid, and tuned along its longitudinal axis (M) on an integer multiple of the acoustic wavelength 2 of the working frequency to generate transverse compressions in the expansion nodes. This resonator (1) is preferably a hollow profile of circular cross-section and contains optionally additional oscillators.

Ein Verfahren zur Erzeugung und Abstrahlung von Ultraschallenergie in Flüssigkeiten, insbesondere zur Beschallung von Reinigungsbädern, mit Ultraschallgenerator und diesem zugeordnetem Wandler oder Konverter wird dadurch in seiner Wirkungsweise und Wirtschaftlichkeit verbessert, daß in die Flüssigkeit ein Resonator eingetaucht und die Flüssigkeit durch in den Dehnungsknoten longitudinaler Wellen des Resonators entstehende Radialkomponenten vom Queramplituden bestrahlt wird. Eine entsprechende Vorrichtung mit Ultraschallgenerator und diesem zugeordnetem Wandler der Konverter weist erfindungsgemäß einen an den Schallwandler (9) zur Flüssigkeit bzw. zum Bad (7) hin angeschlossenen Resonator (1) auf, der in seiner Längsachse (M) auf ein ganzzahliges Vielfaches der akustischen Länge λ/2 der Arbeitsfrequenz zur Erzeugung von Querkontraktionen an deren Dehnungsknoten abgestimmt ist. Dieser Resonator (1) ist bevorzugt als Hohlprofil runden Querschnittes ausgebildet und nimmt gegebenenfalls noch weitere Resonatoren in sich auf.
