Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0044881A1] 1. Method for the continuous manufacture of an armouring for multisection over head doors or roller shutters, in which a hollow metal section having first and second linkage elements (22, 31) is produced and then cut by means of a dividing apparatus into section pieces (2, 3) of predetermined length, and in which these pieces are joined to one another by their linkage elements, each section piece being introduced longitudinally into an assembly device (5) with one linkage being thereby slid into a linkage of a preceding section piece, with the sections that have already been slidingly joined being held during the sliding-in and then further transported at right angles to the long axis of the section pieces, characterised in that a) a first section piece (2) is introduced into the assembly device (5) in an upright position, that this section piece (2) is engaged by lifting grips (6) and is lowered vertically into a second position whose location is displaced transversely to the long axis of the section piece by the width of the section piece (2), b) the first section piece (2) is engaged and held in its second position by holding grips (7), c) the lifting grips (6) are returned to their first position, d) a second section piece (3) is introduced into the assembly device in an upright position so that its first linkage element (31) slides into the second linkage element (22) of the first section piece (2) and the second section piece (3) is then engaged by the lifting grips (6), e) steps (a) to (d) of the process are repeated and f) the section pieces that have been slid into one another are thereby moved downwards from the assembly device under their own weight.
