Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0045036A1] 1. A vacuum cleaner with a cover (9) which closes the dust-bag chamber in which vacuum cleaner the cover (9) is provided with an element which presses the filter bag (7) provided with a stiffening plate (6) against the inlet socket (2), and a double-armed angular component (10) which serves to prevent the cover (9) being closed when the filter bag (7) is not inserted, is arranged so as to be pivotable and when the cover is open, can be moved by spring force into a starting position corresponding to the blocking position and by being brought into contact with the stiffening plate (6) can be moved out of its blocked position, characterized in that the double-armed angular component (10) on the cover (9) is arranged so as to be pivotable and displaceable in slots (11) and when the cover (9) is open is held by spring force at one end of the slots (11) in such manner that when the cover (9) is cosed one arm (12) of the angular component (10) rests a strip (13) which is provided in the dust-bag chamber (3) on the housing wall and which projects at the level of the stiffening plate (6), that moreover at least on one side of the housing wall a projection (14) is arranged and designed in such manner that when the angular component (10) contacts the one end of the slots (11) the other arm (15) of the angular component (10) strikes against the projection (14) whereas when the component (10) contacts the other end of the slots (11) the arm (15) engages past the projection (14).
