An ink roller box for accomodating an ink roller (2) provided with a shaft, at the end faces of which the ends (26, 27) of said shaft project, characterized in that said box is made up of two equishaped box halves (1) whose inner width corresponds to the diameter of the ink roller (2) and whose inner length corresponds to the length of the ink roller (2), that the edges (7, 14) of the opposite longitudinal walls (3, 4) of each box half (1) have a complementary path with projections (13, 15, 16) and cut-outs (11, 12, 17), that at a longitudinal wall (3) of eacht box half (1) a detent member (29) is provided, that at the other longitudinal wall (4) of each box half (1) a detent recess (30) complementary to the detent member (29) is disposed, and that in the edge (20, 21) of each transverse wall (5, 6) of the box halves (1) a cut-out (24, 25) is provided having a depth corresponding at least to half the diameter of the shaft of the ink roller (2).
