In an applicator unit, the applicator roller of which is preferably equipped with drive means, the mid-axis of the applicator roller is to be shiftable in relation to the mid-axis of the stencil or the like. The shift can take place in the material running plane towards the infeed of the material web and/or, as seen in the material running plane, in the opposite direction to the infeed of the material web. The bearings of the applicator roller (2) are therefore displaceable or adjustable. So that the amount of adjustment can be fixed, monitoring and setting means, for example a scale division, are assigned to the bearings or the mid-axis of the applicator roller. The bearings not only can be shifted in the printing plane, but, if appropriate, are also vertically adjustable. The shift of the applicator roller (2) in relation to the stencil or the like is made in order to prevent unsteadiness which can be brought about by the bending of the applicator roller inside the stencil or the like, and to ensure a steadying of the interaction between the stencil or the like and the applicator roller in terms of the ink application or the like. <IMAGE>

Bei einem Auftragswerk, dessen Auftragswalze vorzugsweise mit Antriebsmitteln versehen ist, soll die Mittelachse der Auftragswalze in Relation zur Mittelachse der Schablone od. dgl. versetzbar sein. Der Versatz kann in Warenlaufebene zum Zulauf der Warenbahn hin erfolgen und/oder in Warenlaufebene gesehen entgegengesetrrt zum Zulauf der Warenbahn. Die Lager der Auftragswalze (2) sind somit verstellbar bzw. einstellbar. Um die Größe der Verstellung feststellen zu können, sind den Lagern bzw. der Mittelachse der Auftragswalze Überwachungs- und Kontrollmittel zugeordnet, z.B. eine Skaleneinteilung. Die Lager können nicht nur in Druckebene versetzt werden, sondern gegebenenfalls auch höheneinstellbar sein. Der Versatz der Auftragswalze (2) im Verhältnis zur Schablone od. dgl. erfolgt. um Beunruhigungen, die durch Verbiegung der Auftragswalze im Innern der Schablone od. dgl. hervorgerufen werden können, zu vermeiden und eine Beruhigung in der Zusammenarbeit zwischen Schablone od. dgl. und Auftragswalze hinsichtlich des Farbauftrages od. dgl. zu erzielen.
