[origin: US4386155A] Colored images consisting of metal-complexed azomethine dyes are prepared by chromogenic development of silver halide photographic recording materials in the presence of color couplers. The color developers contain a grouping capable of metal chelate formation adjacent to the primary amino group. The azomethine dyes are transferred into the corresponding azomethine dye/metal complexes. The complex formation is accompanied by shift of color hue and increase of light stability.
