The invention relates to planetary coolers for rotary tubular kilns, said coolers comprising a series of tubes mounted in satellite arrangement around the kiln and connected to openings in the latter by spouts. In order to increase the effectiveness of the cooling tubes their downstream part, referring to the direction of circulation of the material, is divided into two compartments by a partition (34) situated in a diametral plane, and in order to ensure regular feeding of the two compartments the wall of each tube is provided, upstream of the partition, with two parallel helices (40) offset by 180 degree and delimiting two corridors (42 and 44), each of which leads into one compartment. <IMAGE>

L'invention concerne les refroidisseurs planétaires pour four tubulaire rotatif constitués par une série de tubes montés en satellite autour du four et raccordés à des ouvertures du four par des goulottes. Pour augmenter l'efficacité des tubes refroidisseurs, leur partie aval, en considérant le sens de circulation de la matière, est divisée en deux compartiments par une cloison (34) située dans un plan diamétral, et pour assurer une alimentation régulière des deux compartiments la paroi de chaque tube est munie, en amont de la cloison, de deux hélices parallèles (40), décalées de 180° et délimitant deux couloirs (42 et 44) débouchant chacun dans un compartiment.
