Abstract (en)

[origin: WO8102717A1] The boom has two arms (1, 2) connected on the mast side by a fork (3) which carries a nipping device allowing to provide a releasable attachement of the boom to the mast (11) and comprising two clamping jaws (10) arranged in a face-to-face relationship. Both clamping jaws (10) are mounted on the free ends of pivoting levers (8, 9) about axis (6, 7) parallel to the mast. The levers (8, 9) form, in association with the mast (11) which acts as a toggle joint, a toggle lever. The fork (3) has a flexibility allowing the passage in an extended position of the toggle lever and the pivoting motion of the levers (8, 9) outwardly with respect to the fork (3) is limited by stops (12, 13).
