A crockery stacking device of this type should be capable of being moved from a position, in which the individual items of crockery can easily be removed and inserted, into a storage position, in which it has a small space requirement, i.e. preferably only takes up a small depth in addition to its short length in the direction of the telescopic rail. This problem is essentially solved by the fact that a holder (15) receiving the individual item (16) is assigned to each of the individual items (16) of the crockery to be stacked and that the holders (15) are guided along a common displacement line and are movable in such a way that their mutual spacings and thus the spacings of the individual items (16) held by them can be changed, if appropriate, the telescopic rail being mounted swivellably in the manner of a swivellable arm about an essentially vertical swivel axis or with an essentially vertical swivel shaft. <IMAGE>
