Eine Presse zum Herstellen abgebundener Ballen aus Abfallmaterialien ist mit einer Abschervorrichtung, bestehend aus Schermessern (8a, 8b) mit pfeilförmigem Schneidkantenverlauf (8') am Preßkolben (2) und zackenförmigen Gegenmessern (4) am Gehäuse (1) versehen. Die Zuführung der für das Abbinden der Ballen erforderlichen Bänder (11 und 12) erfolgt über Zentrierrollenpaare (17, 18) von einer oberen (13) und unteren Bandvorratsstation (14) aus in den Preßschacht (3) hinein.
