A device for memoving paint, carpet and/or material debris from a surface, comprising a cutting plate (1) rigidly coupled to a vibration generator (9) and having cutting edges (5, 5') on two of parallel opposite peripheral sides, which cutting edges are each connected with the cutter plate through a transition portion and define an acute angle with respect to the working surface, characterized in that - the cutter plate (1) is positioned below the housing of the vibration generator (9), and - the transition portions are defined by obliquely outwardly extending edge parts (4, 4') which are spring-resiliently joined to the cutter plate (1) and the cutting strips (2, 2') provided with the cutting edges (5, 5') by further curved transition portions (12, 13).
