The first pair of support braces are also rotatably connected to the front of the seat through a second axle, and the rear of the seat is rotatably connected to the back rest through a third axle. An arm provided with a longitudinal slot connects the second pair of braces to the back rest, with the third axle passing through the longitudinal slot. A free end of the arm and the back rest are engageable in a plurality of positions to permit vertical adjustment of the seat.

Bei dem Stuhl ist der höhenverstellbare Sitz (1) an einem Kreuzgestell (3) mit zwei Stützstrebenpaaren (11 und 12) vorgesehen, welche um eine zu den Sitzkanten (5 und 6) im wesentlichen parallele, mittlere Drehachse (4) schwenkbar miteinander verbunden sind. Das eine Stützstrebenpaar (11) ist am Sitz (1) im Bereich der vorderen Sitzkante (5) um eine zur mittleren Drehachse (4) parallele, zweite Drehachse (13) schwenkbar angelenkt. Das andere Stützstrebenpaar (12) erstreckt sich nur auf der dem Sitz (1) abgewandten Seite von der mittleren Drehachse (4) weg und greift über einen mittleren Arm (14) am Sitz (1) an. Der mittlere Arm (14) ist an diesem Stützstrebenpaar (12) befestigt, ragt von demselben weg zum Sitz (1) hin und weist einen Längsschlitz (17) auf. Durch den Längsschlitz (17) erstreckt sich eine zur mittleren Drehachse (4) parallele Achse (10) zur schwenkbaren Verbindung der Rückenlehne (2) und des Sitzes (1) miteinander. Mit dem freien Ende (14') ist der mittlere Arm (14) an der Rückenlehne (2) in verschiedenen Abständen von der Achse (10) festlegbar. Der mittlere Arm (14) kann federnd ausgebildet sein.
