A method for making a cone, in the course of which a blank produced from a foldable, flexible flat material such as paper metal foil or a similar material is wound around a conical mandrel, wherein the whole of the conical cone is simultaneously formed between an inner and an outer forming part (14, 15) and the inside of the cone is at least at certain points given elastic support during the forming process, as a result of which folds (4, 7, 10) extending essentially in a longitudinal direction are formed in at least one tapered section of the cone.
