Abstract (en)
This device comprises a toothed starting quadrant (58) associated with a return spring (68). The quadrant (58) is mounted loosely about the shaft (2) of the pedal assembly, but can be fixed to this shaft by means of a bush (30) which is equipped with claws and which is fixed relative to the shaft (2) in terms of rotation, but slides along the latter. A remote-controlled elastic fork (88) keeps the bush (30) in engagement with a rear-wheel drive-chain transmission by means of the pedals (6) or pushes it back against the starting quadrant. <IMAGE>

Ce dispositif comporte un secteur denté de lancement (56) associé à un ressort de rappel (68). Le secteur (58) est monté fou autour de l'arbre (2) du pédalier, mais peut être rendu solidaire de cet arbre par une douille (30) munie de crabots, qui est solidaire en rotation de l'arbre (2) mais coulisse le long de celui-ci. Une fourchette élastique (88) commandée à distance maintient la douille (30) en prise avec une transmission à chaîne d'entraînement de la roue arrière, au moyen des pédales (6), ou la repousse contre le secteur de lancement.
