1. Continuous casting apparatus for metals and alloys with a molten metal container (1) which comprises at least one channel which communicates with the cavity of a substantially horizontally arranged mould (6) by way of at least one nozzle block (4) of refractory material extending into the channel portion (2) of the molten metal container (1) and passing through a seal (3) having a substantially flat sealing surface or surfaces (2a, 4b) between it and the molten metal container (1), characterised in that for casting high-melting metals and their alloys, for example steel, the nozzle block (4) is ceramic, preferably of zirconium oxide, and the seal (3) is formed by a fleece of aluminium oxide fibres.
Abstract (de)
Der horizontale Strangguß ist insbesondere für hochwertige Stahlqualitäten geeignet. Die Verbindung zwischen Schmelzenbehälter (1) und Kokille (6) kann die Ursache von Störungen und Verunreinigung der Legierung sein. Diese Störungen können dadurch vermieden werden, daß zwischen dem Düsenstein (4) der Kokille und dem Schmelzenbehälter eine Dichtung aus einem Vlies aus Aluminiumoxidfasern angeordet ist.
