Sheet-wound electrical coil for electric apparatus, for example transformers or reactors, which sheet-wound coil (21, 22) is built up of a plurality of turns, wound on top of each other, of a sheet comprising a metallic foil (10, 14) and at least one polymer film (25), said metallic foil serving as conductor and said polymer film serving as insulation in the coil, the metallic foil being provided with elongated depressions (11, 15, 16) on at least one of its sides, characterized in that for achieving a complete impregnation of the sheet-wound coil the depressions in the sheetwound coil extend to and communicate with the space (28) adjacent to the end surfaces (29, 30) of the sheet-wound coil without causing any elevation on the respectively opposing side of the foil.
