1. Electrostatic filter device for the purification of gases, with - a microporous filter medium which is installed in a filter housing in the gas flow path between the gas inlet and the gas outlet, has at least a small electrical conductivity and which is connected on the gas outflow side to a source pole of a direct-current high-voltage source and is installed into the filter housing in such a way that the gas stream is deflected, - an ionisation device, which is connected to the other source pole of the direct-current high-voltage source, for at least partially ionising the gas before entry into the filter medium, and with - an fan which conveys the gas through the filter housing, characterised in that the distance (I) between the ionisation device (8) and the entry surface of the gas into the filter medium (7) decreases progressively, as viewed from the gas inlet (A) to the gas outlet (B).

Die elektrostatische Filtervorrichtung zur Reinigung von Gasen mit einem in ein Filtergehäuse (1) zwischen einem Gaseinlaß (A) und -auslaß (B) in den Gasströmungsweg eingebauten, wenigstens halbleitenden mikroporösen Filtermedium (7) weist eine Hochspannungsquelle auf, deren einer Quellenpol auf der Gasabströmseite unmittelbar an das Filtermedium angelegt ist und dessen anderer Quellenpol mit einer Ionisierungsvorrichtung (8) zur wenigstens teilweisen Ionisierung des Gases vor Eintritt in das Filtermedium (7) versehen ist. Um eine gleichmäßige Ablagerung der zu entfernenden Schmutzpartikel, Bakterien usw. über die gesamte Fläche des Filtermediums zu erreichen, ist vorgesehen, daß der Abstand (1) zwischen der Ionisierungsvorrichtung (8) und der Eintrittsfläche des Gases in das Filtermedium (7) vom Gaseinlaß (A) zum Gasauslaß (B) gesehen, zunehmend verkleinert ist. Gemäß einer Ergänzung ist eine Reguliervorrichtung (23) für den Gasdurchsatz zwischen der An- udn Abströmseite des Filtermediums (7) angeordnet die vorzugsweise als verstellbares Wandelement ausgeführt ist.
