Abstract (en)

1. A process for the carbonisation of workpieces and for their heat treatment without affecting the carbon content, in which the workpieces are exposed in a furnace to the effect of a gas mixture formed from an intermittently flowing organic liquid and further components, characterised in that the organic liquid ist fed intermittently directly into the furnace to the gas mixture which acts upon the workpieces, or that, in addition to the direct addition of the organic liquid, a part of the further components is fed into the furnace also intermittently, the latter being fed into the furnace either directly or mixed with the organic liquid.

Abstract (de)

Es wird ein Verfahren zum Aufkohlen und kohlungsneutralen Glühen von Werkstücken angegeben, die in einem Ofen bei hohen Temperaturen der Einwirkung eines aus einer organischen Flüssigkeit und weiteren Komponenten gebildeten Gasgemisches ausgesetzt werden. Um auf wirtschaftliche Weise ein rasches Aufkohlen oder kohlungsneutrales Glühen von Metallteilen zu ermöglichen, wird vorgeschlagen, die organische Flüssigkeit während der Einwirkung des Gasgemisches auf die Werkstücke den übrigen Komponenten vor deren Einleitung in den Ofen und/oder dem Gasgemisch pulsierend zuzugeben.
