In vibratable members or resonant bodies for sound-producing devices, in particular musical instruments, there is the need for design measures that are simple to carry out in constructional terms and are aimed at purposely influencing the resonance spectrum and the sound quality, in particular also the transient response and thus the playability of musical instruments. To obtain a solution, there is formed on the surface, in particular also on the edge surface, of vibratable members - e.g. on a string- bearing bridge of a stringed or plucked instrument - a finely profiled notched structure (ES9, FKS, KKS), or also a wavy edged structure (KWS), which reduces the ratio of the bending stiffness to the vibrating mass and/or effects a subdivision of the vibratable member into vibratable submembers and/or an enlargement of the effective sound radiating area. These measures also come into consideration for mechanised string instruments (piano) and for wind instruments, including mechanised ones (organ), and for auxiliary equipment such as bows. <IMAGE>

Bei Schwing- bzw. Resonanzkörpern für Klangerzeugungsgeräte, insbesondere Musikinstrumente, besteht das Bedürfnis nach baulich einfach auszuführenden Konstruktionsmassnahmen zur gezielten Beeinflussung des Resonanzspektrums und der Klangqualität, insbesondere auch des Einschwingverhaltens und damit der Anspielbarkeit bei Musikinstrumenten. Zur Lösung wird an der Oberfläche, insbesondere auch an der Kantenoberfläche, von Schwingkörpern - z. B. an einem saitentragenden Steg eines Streich- oder Zupfinstrumentes - eine Feinprofilierungs-Kerbstruktur (ES9, FKS, KKS) oder auch eine Kanten-Weilenstruktur (KWS) gebildet, die das Verhältnis der Biegesteifheit zur Schwingmasse herabsetzt und/oder eine Gliederung des Schwingkörpers in Teilschwingelemente und/oder eine Vergrößerung der wirksamen Schallabstrahlungsfläche bewirkt. Diese Massnahmen kommen auch für mechanisierte Saiteninstrumente (Klavier) und für Blasinstrumente, auch für mechanisierte (Orgel), und für Hilfsgeräte wie Streichbögen in Betracht.
