Device with draw cords for curtains or the like, wherein rings (3) carry the curtain and are slidingly mounted on a curtain rail (1), and an open, axis-parallel rail guide (2) is disposed in the upper surface of the rod (1), in which rail guide a slide member (4) is displaceable in both directions, actuatable by a draw cord (7) and two rings (3', 3"), which are connectable to the end of the curtain to be displaced, are secured to said slide member and are additionally interconnected by a carriage (5) disposed under the rod, characterized in that holders (46 and 55, respectively) for the second ring (3") are disposed so as to be displaceable in a limited axis-parallel manner on the slide member (4) and the carriage (5), which follows the front ring (3'), securely connected to the slide member (4) and the carriage (5), so that the second ring (3") is slidable close to the ring (3') disposed therebefore.
