Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0052175A1] 1. Bottle seal made from an elastic material to keep and allow liquids to be poured out in a steril condition, consisting of an annular neck section (2), the free end of which can be inserted into the cylindrical hole (1A) of the bottle aperture (1), a single-piece annular disc-shaped rim section (3) which is moulded onto the outer end of the neck section (2), projects radially beyond this and extends into the outer top end (1B) of the bottle aperture (1), and a single-piece almost disc-shaped bottom part (4) which is moulded onto the neck section (2) and fills the central area surrounding that section. This bottom part (4) is on or near the inner end of the neck section (2) facing the inside of the bottle, and is provided with a gripper nose (6) in the cup-shaped hollow (5) formed by the internal circumference (2A) of the neck section (2) and the outer area (4A) of the bottom section (4). The characteristic feature of this seal is that the gripper nose (6) is moulded in a single-piece to the inner circumference (2A), extend to the bottom section (4) and is connected therewith, and also has a plane of symmetry (S) with the central axis (M) of the seal, having lateral boundary surfaces (6A, 6B) lying essentially parallel or at an angle of 10 degrees maximum to the plane of symmetry (S), with its radial inner boundary surface (6C) positioned at a distance from the diametrically opposite side of the inner circumference (2A), and that the gripper nose (6) is divided into an inner nose section (6') and an outer nose section (6") by a cut or slit (6) beginning at the radial inner boundary surface (6C) and extending in the direction of one side of the inner circumference (2A).
