Apparatus for delivering a gas which is stored in a plurality of containers (1-4) under pressure in liquid form, or, together with a solvent, distributed in a porous mass, wherein each container (1-4) is provided with a gas filling and withdrawal device (10-18), wherein a heating device (6) is provided, and wherein the containers (1 to 4) are installed in a capsule (7 to 9) which is closed on all sides and is as air-tight as possible, characterised in that only the gas-tight housings of the containers and the heating device (6) are arranged within the capsule (7 to 9), so that the interior of the capsule is minimal, whilst the gas filling and withdrawal devices (10 to 18) are arranged in the ventilated outer chamber of the capsule (7 to 9).
