A locking insert for a lock equipped with a latch or falling latch which can be actuated by the locking bit (2) of the insert held in the continuous opening of the lock, the insert showing essentially a cylindrical locking roller (1) with a diameter adapted to the opening or to a partial opening of the lock, actuating recesses (3) being arranged at the ends of the locking roller (1) and circumferential recesses (5, 6) for fixing the axial position being arranged between the locking bit (2) and the respective end, characterized in that the locking roller (1) consists of a single-piece element of plastic or metal with an integrally formed single-piece locking bit (2) as also directly pivoted in the continuous opening and that the locking roller (1) has pivots (9) at the ends where cover plates (7) attachable to the lock or to the door are adjoined to the pivots (9) each of the cover plates (7) having an axial flange (8) compassing the respective pivot (9) and so forming a journal bearing.
