An extension device for windows or doors in which the movable door or window portions are rotatable about a vertical axis and can be tilted about a horizontal axis, comprising a scissor arm (1) which is connected to the fixed frame and at the end towards the movable door or window portion, to a scissor housing (7), wherein mounted slidably in the housing (7) is a locking bar (22) provided with a locking member (20) which engages behind a locking roller (24) of the scissor arm (1) in the rotational and the closure position of the fitment, and wherein the housing (7) is adjustable by means of an adjusting means relative to a mounting (10) which is fixed in the frame of the movable door or window portion, on the longitudinal axis thereof, characterised in that the mounting (10) has a mounting block (13) which extends through an opening (14) in the upper wall (4) of the housing (7) and which is provided with a screwthreaded bore for receiving an adjusting screw (15), the head (16) which is provided with a polygonal recess therein, of the adjusting screw, form-lockingly extends through an additional opening (17) in the upper wall of the housing (7), said additional opening being connected to the first-mentioned opening, and said wall is provided with a further opening (18) for inserting an actuating tool into the polygonal recess.
