[origin: EP0054605A2] The invention presents a solution with which it is possible in straightening machines, which have six or more straightening rolls (7 to 12), for wire or tubes, arranged skew with respect to the direction of passage of the workpiece to extend the diameter range beyond the lower limit of the workpiece diameters to be straightened according to the prior art. For this purpose, guide nozzles (34, 35) for the workpieces, which bridge the gap between the rolls and guide the workpiece there, are provided between the sequential straightening rolls or groups of rolls. The nozzles are fastened to support arms (26, 27) which project from the edge of the machine as far as between the straightening rolls. The support arms can be removed. The nozzles are used only in straightening the smallest diameters. The support arms with the nozzles can be adjusted in height. <IMAGE>
