The method and apparatus for filling a flask (1) with a moulding material, in particular a casting moulding material, from a container (3) arranged underneath the said flask use pressure applied by a membrane (27) arranged in the container. By means of a nozzle lip (43) arranged on the upper edge of the container, the flask fitted tightly onto the container and sealed off air-tightly by a pattern plate (5) is first of all evacuated in order to avoid air being trapped in the compressed moulding material. After compression, the membrane (27) can be withdrawn by applying negative pressure. The container, which can be moved back and forth between a filling station and the moulding station, can be combined with a wiper for wiping off excess moulding material from the underside of the flask as well as a slide for closing the supply container into the moulding material. <IMAGE>

Ein Verfahren und eine Vorrichtung zum Einbringen und gleichzeitigen Verdichten von Formmasse, insbesondere Gießereiformmasse, in einen Formkasten (1) aus einem darunter angeordneten Behälter (3) durch Druckbeaufschlagung einer im Behälter angeordneten Membran (27). Durch eine am oberen Behälterrand angeordnete Düsenleiste (43) wird der auf den Behälter dicht aufgesetzte und von einer Modellplatte (5) luftdicht abgeschlossene Formkasten zuvor evakuiert, um Lufteinschlüsse in der verdichteten Formmasse zu vermeiden. Nach der Verdichtung kann die Membran (27) durch Anlegen von Unterdruck abgezogen werden. Mit dem zwischen einer Füllstation und der Formstation verfahrbaren Behälter kann ein Abstreifer zum Abstreifen überschüssiger Formmasse von der Unterseite des Formkastens sowie ein Schieber zum Verschließen des Vorratsbehälters in die Formmasse kombiniert sein.
