Abstract (en)

Aqueous composition having a viscosity of at least 10.10<-><6> m<2>/s centistokes at 40 DEG C which contain up to about 80 percent by weight of water, at least 0.1 percent by weight of an acidic lubricity agent and an effective amount of an anti-wear additive which is the combination of a nitroaromatic compound component and a hydroxyl substituted aromatic acid component exhibit enhanced anti-wear and lubricity properties.
