[origin: US4402219A] The invention relates to apparatus for detecting the stuck point of a conduit, such as drill pipes, in a borehole while eliminating any stress on the detection means during the measurement. A two-part body member is suspended from a cable with the two parts (23 and 24) mounted movably with respect to each other. Each part is anchored independently in the drill pipes and movements between these parts are detected when stresses are applied to the drill pipes (11) from the surface. After anchoring, a spring, designed to bias the two parts of the body member toward each other, is disconnected from the top part of the body member. An angular detection means is mounted between a mobile sleeve and the top part of the body member. Before the measurement, the sleeve is uncoupled from the bottom part and reset in relation to the top part. During the measurement, the sleeve is blocked in the bottom part.

L'invention se rapporte aux procédés et dispositifs pour dètecter le point de coincement des tiges dans un sondage. Les dispositifs usuels comprennent un corps suspendu à un câble et formé par deux parties (23 et 24) montées mobiles l'une par rapport à l'autre. Chaque partie est ancrée indépendamment dans les tiges et l'on détecte les mouvements entre ces parties lorsqu'on applique des contraintes aux tiges (11) en surface. L'invention permet de supprimer toute contrainte sur les moyens de détection pendant la mesure. Un ressort destiné à repousser les deux parties du corps l'une vers l'autre, est découplé de la partie supérieure du corps après ancrage. Les moyens de détection angulaires sont montés entre un manchon mobile et la partie supérieure du corps. Pendant la mesure, le manchon est bloqué dans la partie inférieure. Avant la mesure le manchon est découplé de cette partie inférieure et remis au zéro par rapport à la partie supérieure.
