Abstract (en)

It is proposed to consider again the use of studio microphones in an artificial head, which has already been discarded by expert opinion, and, in doing so, to achieve higher drive levels and a greater signal/noise ratio by coupling the small-area auditory canals to the large-area microphone diaphragms. This coupling is obtained with the aid of a special acoustic coupler (33) which comprises at least two Helmholtz resonators (31,32; 35a,36) and a tuning member (34) and does not cause any significant decreases in level within the frequency range of up to 15 kHz and has an all-pass characteristic in a preferred embodiment. Using the artificial head (20), the advantages of artificial-head recording technology can be combined with the advantages in quality of conventional microphone technology. <IMAGE>

Abstract (de)

Es wird vorgeschlagen, die von der Fachwelt bereits verlassene Verwendung von Studiomikrofonen in dem Kunstkopf wieder aufzugreifen und dabei durch eine Ankopplung der kleinflächigen Ohrkanäle an die großflächigen Mikrofonmembranen eine höhere Aussteuerbarkeit und einen größeren Rauschabstand zu erzielen. Diese Ankopplung gelingt mit Hilfe eines speziellen akustischen Kopplers (33), welcher zumindest zwei Helmholtz-Resonatoren (31, 32; 35a, 36) sowie ein Abstimmungsstück (34) umfaßt sowie in dem Frequenzbereich bis 15 kHz keine wesentlichen Pegelabsenkungen verursacht und in einer bevorzugten Ausführungsform eine Allpaßcharakteristik besitzt. Mit Hilfe des Kunstkopfes (20) lassen sich die Vorteile der Kunstkopfaufnahmetechnik mit den Qualitätsvorteilen der herkömmlichen Mikrofontechnik verbinden.
