A time switch device with a switch clock having a time dial (1) and programmable switching slide contacts (2) thereon with switching cams (3) which via a star wheel (4) actuate a first control shaft (5) in accordance with a switching programme, so that said control shaft switches an electric switching device (7) on, off or over at preselectable times, characterized in that a second control shaft (9) is provided which is connected via a transmission gearing (8) to the first control shaft (5) ; that on the second control shaft (9) there is arranged a ratchet wheel (10) of a drive switching mechanism having at least one tooth (11) ; and that as a result of the actuation of the first control shaft (5) in accordance with the switching programme, via the transmission gearing (8) the second control shaft (9) and thus a tooth (11) of the ratchet wheel (10) is brought into the range of engagement of a continuously oscillating pawl (12) of the drive switching mechanism, which pawl subsequently rotates the second control shaft (9) having a switching cam (13) arranged thereon, by an angular amount for a relatively short length of time, so that the switching cam (13) actuates an adjacent contact arrangement (15) in pulsed fashion.
