This apparatus is suitable for exchanging supply reels (2, 2', 2'') for stranding machines (1) with reel carriers (5) arranged in succession in a longitudinal direction of the machine and is equipped with a magazine (7) which has bearing elements (13, 13', 13''; 23, 24; 26, 27) arranged above the stranding machine (1). For inserting the supply reels (2) into the stranding machine (1) and extracting them from it, arranged vertically above each reel carrier (5) of the stranding rotor (3) and above the bearing elements (13, etc) is a fixed lifting device (9) with a receiving means (10) suitable for grasping the supply reels (2). The bearing elements (13, etc.) can both be introduced into the region determined essentially by the cross-section of a supply reel (2) and extending vertically above the reel carrier (5), to load the magazine (7) with supply reels (2) or unload them from it, and be removed out of this region, to load the reel carriers (5) in the stranding rotor (3) or unload them from it. Diese Einrichtung eignet sich zum Auswechseln von Ablaufspulen (2, 2', 2") für Verseilmaschinen (1) mit in Maschinenlängsrichtung hintereinander angeordneten Spulenträgern (5) und ist mit einem Magazin (7) ausgerüstet, das oberhalb der Verseilmaschine (1) angeordnete Auflageeelemente (13, 13', 13"; 23, 24; 26, 27) aufweist. Zum Einlegen und Entnehmen der Ablaufspulen (2) in die bzw. aus der Verseilmaschine (1) ist senkrecht über jedem Spulenträger (5) des Verseilrotors (3) oberhalb der Auflageelemente (13,...) eine ortsfeste Hubeinrichtung (9) mit einem zum Erfassen der Ablaufspulen (2) geeigneten Aufnahmemittel (10) angeordnet. Die Auflageelemente (13, ...) können in den Bereich, der im wesentlichen durch den Querschnitt einer Ablaufspule (2) gegeben ist und der sich senkrecht über den Spulenträger (5) erstreckt, sowohl eingebracht werden, um das Magazin (7) mit Ablaufspulen (2) zu be- oder entladen, als auch aus diesem Bereich entfernt werden, um die Spulenträger (5) im Verseilrotor (3) zu be- bzw. entladen. Dabei können die Auflageelemente (13, ...) eine gemeinsame lineare Bewegung ausführen oder um einzelne Achsen (21; 25) geschwenkt werden. Das Be- und Entladen des Magazins (7) kann während der Produktion der Verseilmaschine (1) erfolgen.
