Process for aerial or high seas navigation, enabling information assisting navigation and relating to the position of an aircraft or a ship to be worked out and issued from bearings (R) taken relative to location posts by means of suitable navigation instruments, particularly bearings of radio-navigation posts taken by means of radio-navigation instruments, said process using a board (2), a so-called navigation board, on which a map or chart (17, 18), corresponding to the navigation region in question, is placed, said map or chart possessing an indication of the location posts existing in the area it covers, said process being characterised in that it consists in - graduating the navigation board (2), so as to locate each point of the board by means of conventional coordinates in a reference system joined to said board ; - selecting on the map or chart, fixid to the board, two location posts and reading off the conventional coordinates (X1 , Y1 ; X2 , Y2 ) of these two location posts in the reference system in which the board is graduated ; - actuating by hand a data input keyboard (9), comprising a plurality of keys for generating electrical signals representing these conventional coordinates (X1 , Y1 ; X2 , Y2 ), and storing said signals in (12) ; - measuring and reading off the bearings (R1 , R2 ) of these two location posts by means of suitable navigation instruments ; - actuating by hand the data input keyboard (9) for generating electrical signals representing these bearings (R1 , R2 ) and storing these signals in (12) ; - generating from these electrical signals, representing the conventional coordinates (X1 , Y1 ; X2 , Y2 ) of the two location posts and the measured bearings (R1 , R2 ), electrical signals representing the conventional coordinates (X, Y) of the position of the aircraft or ship in the reference system joined to the navigation board ; and - displaying said conventional coordinates (X, Y) in (13, 14) and marking on the map or chart, fixed to the navigation board, the position of the aircraft or ship by means of the conventional coordinates and of the reference system joined to the board.
