A prefabricated structural unit for use in the installation of service lines, which unit consists of a carrying skeleton, on which the required pipes (10, 11, 14) and the fastening means, such as pipe clips (20) and studs, for the sanitary fixtures or the like, which are to be attached, are mounted, characterized in that the carrying skeleton consists of a self-supporting, inherently stiff grid of rods (1, 6, 7), to which the fastening means for the pipes (10, 11, 14) and the fasteners (20-26, 75) for the sanitary fixtures (30-32, 40) or the like are mounted, and, if desired, the grid (1, 6, 7) itself constitutes a carrying skeleton for a wall (3) that is to be erected or is adapted to be erected as a self-supporting structure by means of separate uprights or carriers (5, 12, 19, 25).
