1. Fuel injection pump for internal combustion engines, especially Diesel engines, in which pump and nozzle are combined in a unit injector, having a follower (1) for operating the plunger (2), a packing element (17) being provided at the location (3) of entry of the plunger (2) into the barrel (4) against ingress of abrasion particles into the annular gap between plunger (2) and barrel (4), characterised in that the packing element (17) is developed as a tubular part whose axis is arranged coaxially with the axis of the plunger (2), whose inner diameter is greater than the diameter of the plunger (2), and whose upper rim (18) in the uppermost position of the follower (1) developed as a hollow cylinder protrudes into the cavity (part 20) of the follower (1).

Eine Kraftstoffeinspritzpumpe für Brennkraftmaschinen weist einen Pumpenkolben (2) auf, welcher durch einen Gleitstössel (1) zu seinem Förderhub angetrieben ist. Der Pumpenkolben (2) taucht hiebei in eine Pumpenkolbenbüchse (4) ein und ist über einen Zapfen (5) drehschlüssig mit einem Fördermengenverstellglied verbunden. Die Eintauchstelle des Pumpenkolbens (2) in die Pumpenkolbenbüchse ist durch ein Dichtungselement (17, 25) gegen das Eintreten von Abriebteilchen in den Ringspalt (3) zwischen Pumpenkolben (2) und Pumpenkolbenbüchse (4) gesichert.
