A constructional element, in particular for the equipping of premises used by the public, for defining a transparent separating surface between the public and an agent isolated in another room, but which allows oral communication and the exchange of articles or documents, of a type which consists of a counter (4) which is approximately horizontal on the top (41 -42 ) and which is surmounted by an upper separating wall (31 ), the greater part of which is made from a transparent material and which is inclined upwards and towards the public side in relation to the vertical, that part of the element which is situated below the approximately horizontal part of the counter being closed-off by a lower wall (32 ), characterised by the fact that besides the top of the counter (41 -42 ), the upper wall (31 ) and the lower wall (32 ), this element includes only two lateral uprights (11 -12 ) which are at a distance from each other, are situated in vertical planes and which have, on the one hand, upper parts which are extended and inclined and support between them the said upper wall (31 ), and on the other hand, have wider lower parts (13 ) providing a convenient supporting polygon, and between them supporting the top of the counter (41 -42 ) and the lower wall (32 ), the above-mentioned wider lower parts (13 ) of the uprights being formed from two triangular stands resting on the ground, one side of the triangle being extended by the U-shaped profiles (11 -12 ) which form the said upper parts of the uprights and which hold the upper separating wall (31 ).
