[origin: EP0058306A2] A combustion device, intended especially for wood waste, which makes it possible to ensure an optimum and residue-free combustion without expensive control devices. For this purpose, a fuel receiving chamber is provided in the form of a container which has a wall at least essentially perforated over the entire surface and is of tapered construction in its base region. The combustion air is fed against the flame propagation direction via a cavity chamber which surrounds the container on all sides and is bounded radially inside by the container wall. The flue gases are fed in a flue surrounding the cavity chamber to an outlet and the device for igniting the fuel stock is disposed in the region of the tapered lower end of the container. <IMAGE>
