1. A ribbon cassette which can be placed on a typewriter or similar office machine, having a storage compartment for a delivery spool and a winding spool for a ribbon, wherein the ribbon can be conveyed from the delivery spool, via two guide channels disposed spaced apart in the storage compartment, through a printing station of the machine and be wound back on the winding spool, characterised in that the bottoms (26, 28) of the two guide channels (23, 24) have an offset in height (16, 18) in relation to the bottom (30) of the storage compartment (5) so that a free space (50, 52), for example for the reception of drive parts of a correction device, is formed below each of the guide channels (23, 24) as a continuation of the bottom (30) of the storage compartment (5).

In dieses Farbbandkassetten (1) ist eine Vorrats- (3) und eine Aufwickelspule (41) für ein Farbband (11) drehbar gelagert, wobei das Farbband (11) von der Vorratsspule (3) über zwei im Abstand zueinander angeordnete Führungskanäle (23, 24) durch eine Druckstation der Maschine führ- und auf die Aufwickelspule (41) wieder aufspulbar ist. Zwecks einer kompakten Ausbildung der Farbbandkassette (1) weisen die Böden der Führungskanäle (23, 24) gegenüber dem Boden des Lagerraumes (5) einen Höhenversatz auf, derart, daß unterhalb der Führungskanäle (23, 24) je ein Freiraum für in der Maschine anzuordnende Antriebstelle, z.B. die Vorrats- (56) und die Aufwickelspule (58) einer Korrektureinrichtung entsteht. Hierdurch wird ein kleiner Hubweg des Korrekturbandes (54) aus der Ruhe- in die Arbeitslage ermöglicht.
