[origin: US4496106A] An agitator-grinder comprises a grinding vessel (3) and an agitator mechanism disposed in the grinding vessel (3) and drivable at high speed, between which agitator mechanism and the wall of the grinding vessel there is a grinding chamber partially filled with auxiliary grinding bodies. A grinding stock inflow conduit (20) discharges into the grinding chamber at one end, and a separator device (25) for separating the ground stock from the auxiliary grinding bodies (24) is provided at the other end. In order to enable the recirculation of the auxiliary grinding bodies (24) in a simple manner and in particular also to enable the exertion of influence on the return flow, a return flow conduit (34) is directed out of the grinding chamber (annular-cylindrical chamber 23) in the vicinity of the separator device (25) back into the vicinity of the grinding stock inflow conduit (20), being attached to the grinding vessel (3) in a stationary manner, and the free cross section of the return flow conduit (34) is variable.

Eine Rührwerksmühle besteht aus einem Mahlbehälter (3) und einem in dem Mahlbehälter (3) angeordneten, hochtourig antreibbaren Rührwerk, zwischen dem und der Wand des Mahlbehälters (3) ein schmaler Zylinderring-Haum (23) als teilweise mit Mahlhilfskörpern gefüllter Mahlraum ausgebildet ist, in den an einem Ende ein Mahlgutzulauf-Kanal (20) einmündet, und an dessen anderem Ende eine Trenneinrichtung (25) zur Trennung von gemahlenem Mahlgut und Mahlhilfskörpern (24) vorgesehen ist. Um einen Rücklauf der Mahlhilfskörper (24) in einfacher Weise zu ermöglichen und insbesondere auch eine Beeinflussung des Rücklaufs zu ermöglichen, ist aus dem Mahlraum (Zylinderring-Raum 23) in der Nähe der Trenneinrichtung (25) ein Rücklauf-Kanal (34) in die Nähe des Mahlgutzulauf-Kanals (20) ortsfest am Mahlbehälter (3) zurückgeführt, wobei der freie Querschnitt des Rücklauf-Kanals (34) veränderbar ist.
