A safety device for preventing a pushing up of a slatted roller blind, which safety device is disposed in a channel-shaped lateral guide rail (2) and consists of a plurality of identical locking members (12), which are arranged one over the other and are pivoted to one end of a slat (1a) of the roller blind, each of said locking members being articulatedly connected to a locking member which is pivoted above the slat of the roller blind, and a plurality of said locking members are spread apart and forced against the two opposite flanges (2a, 2b) of the guide rail as the slatted roller blind is pushed up, characterized in that the locking elements (12) constitute a chain (11) and are pivoted to the end of a more elevated slat (1d) of the roller blind, and all locking members are flat and their ends are sharp-edged and/or provided with pointed tips.
