Abstract (en)
[origin: WO8201010A1] A plant-derived cell aggregate, comprising a plurality of undifferentiated cells is disclosed, as is a plant granulate comprising a plurality of such aggregates. A process for the production of such an aggregate comprising establishing a series of cell cultures providing a range of absolute and relative amounts of cytokinin and auxin, agitating the cultures and selecting the culture(s) exhibiting the desired aggregation is also disclosed. A biosynthesis or biotransformation comprising using such a plant granulate as a catalyst is further disclosed. The present invention affords numerous advantages over conventional cell culture techniques and the use of the resulting cultures in biosynthetic systems.
