Abstract (en)

1. Diaphragm pump, preferably a double diaphragm pump, in particular for the control of water on sites, wherein flexible diaphragms which are inclined towards one another in the shape of a V are clamped in housings which are arranged adjacent one another and which enclose a pump chamber provided in each case with an intake and pressure joint, the said diaphragms being able to be reciprocated by means of push rods coupled to a driven crankshaft, characterised in that each pump chamber is subdivided into a relatively short flow chamber (15) which has the pressure joint and the intake and into a diaphragm chamber (16) which is substantially separate therefrom, that the flow chamber is located at the deepest point of the section of the housing (11, 12) which encloses the diaphragm chamber, and that the diaphragm chamber, which is thus located high up in the housing, communicates with the flow chamber via a lower opening.
