Apparatus for driving pins or similar objects into materials such as walls, of the type comprising a driving rod on which the user strikes with a hammer or sledge hammer and which, in sliding into the interior of the body of the apparatus drives the pin into the material, the said body being constituted by a fixed part (1) of which the extremity bears against the material into which it is required to drive a pin and by a movable part (2) capable of sliding with reference to the fixed part, and a recoil spring (9) being located in the interior of the body of the apparatus in order to separate the movable part from the fixed part, the movable part being capable of being displaced in the direction of the material into which the pin is driven and compressing the recoil spring in the proportion that the pin is driven under the action of strikes made by the user on the driving rod, apparatus characterised by the fact that it comprises a removable connector (5) which is maintained in the fixed part of the body of the apparatus by a longitudinal groove (24) located on the periphery of the connector, groove which is terminated by a circular part of a greater diameter in which is a locking mechanism (22) which in one position, opposes the disengagement of the connector and permits it in another position.
