[origin: US4487467A] The device for connecting multiple-conductor cables is composed of two hermaphroditic connectors which are coupled by means of their electric connection face, the first connector being joined to the input cable and the second connector being joined to the output cable. Locking after coupling of said connectors is performed by means of U-shaped stirrups, the respective arms of which are swung back to a position along the longitudinal sides of the connectors. The pivotally mounted ends of the stirrup arms are each provided with a member having an engagement slot and a locking recess in which is engaged a projecting portion of the body of the other connector.

Dispositif de connexion électrique permettant le raccordement de câbles (18, 19) à brins multiples. Le dispositif se compose de deux connecteurs (10 et 11) hermaphrodites accouplés par leur face de connexion électrique (non visible) et qui sont reliés le premier (10) au câble (19) et le second (11) au câble (18). Leur verrouillage après l'accouplement s'opère à l'aide d'étriers (22, 24) en forme de U dont les bras respectifs sont rabattus le long des côtés longitudinaux des connecteurs, ces bras étant munis à leur extrémité d'une pièce (32) comportant une gorge (33) et un cran (34) dans lequel vient s'accrocher une partie saillante (31) du corps de l'autre connecteur. Application : raccordement de câbles en recherche géophysique.
