1. Feeder for castings (1), in particular of cast-iron with a body (3) of an exothermic heating material comprising a cylindrical cavity (5), which material keeps the substance located in the feeder molten until the completion of the shrinkage of the casting material through the region of the casting to be fed, in which case the feeder volume corresponds to the quantity of the shrinkage volume plus the maximum safety amount of 30% of the shrinkage volume, characterised in that the cylindrical cavity (5) is open towards the outside on its upper side and that located in this cavity (5) is a float (9) adapted to its cross section and able to move with respect to the body (3) of exothermic heating material, which float likewise consists of an exothermic heating material.

Ein Speiser für Gußstücke, insbesondere aus Gußeisen, hat einen einen zylindrischen Hohlraum aufweisenden Körper aus einer exothermen Heizmasse, die das im Speiser befindliche Gut bis zur Beendigung des Nachsaugens von Gießgut durch den zu speisenden Gußstückbereich flüssig hält. Das Speiservolumen entspricht der Größe des Nachsaugvolumens zuzüglich des maximalen Sicherheitsbetrages von 30% des Nachsaugvolumens. Um den Spiegel des im Speiser befindlichen Gießgutes sowohl bei dessen Ansteigen als auch bei dessen Senken abzudecken, ist der zylindrische Hohlraum (5) auf seiner Oberseite nach außen offen. In diesem Hohlraum ist ein dessen Querschnitt angepasster und gegenüber dem Körper (3) aus exothermer Heizmasse beweglicher Schwimmer (9) untergebracht, der ebenfalls aus einer exothermen Heizmasse besteht.
