[origin: EP0060374A2] An apparatus for lubricating strip or web sheet metal consists of a housing (2) which possesses an inlet (3) and an outlet (4) for the passage of the sheet metal and in which there are provided nozzles (8), arranged distributed transversely to the direction of travel of the strip, for spraying the oil and distributing rolls (10) arranged downstream of the nozzles (8) in the direction of travel. In order to obtain a more even film of oil, the housing (2) possesses two chambers (6, 7) arranged one behind the other in the direction of travel of the sheet metal and substantially sealed off from one another, on the one hand for the nozzles (8) and on the other hand for the distributing rolls (10).
