Apparatus for levelling strip metal comprising a frame, which consists of a base part (1) and a top part (3), which is engageable with the base part and adapted to be forced against the base part by a stressing device, also comprising a set of levelling rollers (6) in each frame part (1, 3) and two pinch rollers (14, 15), which are associated with respective frame parts (1, 3) and in the direction of travel of the strip succeed the levelling rollers (6), wherein at least one pinch roller (14) is mounted to be adjustable transversely to its axis and transverse to the direction of travel of the strip and is adapted to be acted upon by a force, characterized in that the top part (3) of the frame is pivoted to the base part (1) of the frame in front of the levelling rollers (6) in the direction of travel of the strip, that the levelling rollers (6) are freely rotatably mounted, and that the adjustably mounted pinch roller (14) is supported on the associated frame part (1) by means of a spring (18) or a cylinder (19).
