Abstract (en)
In cathode ray tubes, less sharply limited, and irregularly distributed obstacles are fitted as inhomogeneities in or on the conical part of the wall of the tube. By this means, the development of an unavoidable implosion is influenced from the outset, in that crack formation is initiated at the inhomogeneities as a consequence of energy concentration in the case of the impact of shocks which endanger the tube. These cracks immediately propagate to the neck of the tube where they lead to a non-hazardous ventilation of the tube. <IMAGE>
Abstract (de)
Bei Bildröhren werden wenige scharf begrenzte und unregelmäßig verteilte Hindernisse als Inhomogenitäten im oder am konischen Teil der Kolbenwandung angebracht. Damit wird der Ablauf einer unvermeidbaren Implosion schon von Beginn an beeinflußt, indem an den Inhomogenitäten infolge der Energieanreicherung beim Auftreffen von die Röhre gefährdenden Stößen Rißbildung ausgelöst wird. Diese Risse pflanzen sich sofort bis zum Röhrenhals fort und führen dort zu einer gefahrlosen Belüftung der Röhre.
