Abstract (en)

A multi-step steel-making refining method consisting in decarburization of molten pig iron, which has been desiliconized and dephosphorized, carried out in a reaction vessel (1) by means of an oxygen top-blowing method, and blowing of a stirring fluid beneath the level of the molten pig iron within the reaction vessel (1) during the decarburization treatment at a stirring power of not less than 400 watts per ton of the molten pig iron.
