[origin: WO8201361A1] Latch and guide system for gripping steel plate (10) and the like while it is edge-formed. Pulley means (P<u1>u, P<u2>u) are driven to apply tension to cables (R<u1>u, R<u2>u) which actuate gripping clamps (C<u1>u, C<u2>u). The clamps travel within channel guides (28) along the length of the system and restrain the plate from lateral movement.
