Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0062316A1] 1. A burner assembly, especially for a gas burner, comprising a fuel supply conduit (17, 18, 19) and an air supply conduit (5, 4, 15), both conduits opening in the area of a fuel/air mixing chamber (11) enclosed by a wall (tubular portion 6) ; including vortexproducing devices (15) which produce a vortex of the fuel/air mixture within the mixing chamber (11) and in the subsequently arranged combustion zone, wherein at least parts of both the combustion air and of the fuel flow into the mixing chamber (11) through passages (15) formed in the wall and adapted to be varied in cross-section by a common control element, characterized in that fuel and air supply takes place through at least a part of the passages (15) of variable cross-section, in such a manner that the fuel supply conduit includes one or more branching conduits (19) passing through the wall (tubular portion 6), with said branching conduits (19) opening into one or more of said passages (15), such that the flow of fuel introduced may be entrained by the air flow inside the passage (15) or passages (15), respectively.
